Biography

Hello my name is Joe Aguirre and I serve multiple roles here at HArts Academy. In addition to serving as the dean at school, I also am the EL coordinator, as well assisting with marketing and other public relation roles to make sure everyone in the community and district knows who we are.

I am a San Pedro High School graduate. I received my B.S. in Marketing Management from CSULB. I also received my teaching credential from CSUDH. I started my teaching career at Carson High School in 2000, and came to Narbonne in spring of 2005, finally transferring to HArts Academy in the fall of 2013.

Philosophy

My philosophy of education is not complex and I have adapted the model that many of my past instructors have used. As an educator I think of myself as a guide for student learning. I point them in the right direction and provide the motivation needed for student discovery. It has been my experience that all students are capable of learning given the right conditions. I try to accomplish this by getting to know students and provide the environment needed in order to be successful. Each student is an individual and brings something unique to the school. It is our job as educators to find that uniqueness and help them use that as they learn and discover things about themselves and the world around them.
