The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation process is called Focus on Learning. The goal of this process is to evaluate a school’s impact on student learning, as well as the effectiveness of the school’s programs and its operation.
Prior to the WASC visitation, HArts Academy staff, students, and parents continually met to discuss and evaluate the effectiveness of our programs in the areas of vision, culture, curriculum, instruction, and assessment to determine our strengths and our areas that need growth. The staff selected three critical academic needs:
- Increasing student academic success by identifying and assisting low achieving students.
- Create a positive student-centered environment.
- Improve students’ support with English Language Learners and Special Education in order to realize full inclusion into General Education core classes.
HArts Academy is proud to announce that at the end of the visitation, the WASC team awarded HArts Academy a six-year accreditation, the maximum term a school can receive.
